Cool Analytics is run by Mohd Anas (India). This policy covers two groups of people: customers who use Cool Analytics, and visitors of websites that use it. Questions or requests: [email protected].
Visitors of websites that use Cool Analytics
When a site uses our script, we record each visit on behalf of that site's owner. For each visit we keep:
- the pages viewed, the page title, and how long the page stayed open;
- where the visit came from (the referring site and any UTM campaign tags in the link);
- country, region and city, worked out from the connection — not a precise location;
- browser, operating system, device type, screen width and language;
- custom events the site chooses to send (for example “signup”);
- if the site connects its payment provider: that a payment happened, its amount and currency, linked to the visit that led to it.
No cookies. The script stores a random ID in the browser's local storage, so repeat visits and multi-page visits can be counted. It contains nothing about who you are. Opening a site with #hb-ignore at the end of its address turns tracking off in that browser.
IP addresses are not stored. Your IP is used in the moment to find your country and city and to stop abuse, then discarded. We don't build profiles across different websites, and we never sell or share visit data.
If a site you visited also sends us your email (for example when you sign up there), it's stored as a one-way hash, only to link that site's payments to visits. The site owner is responsible for telling you about this; ask them, or us, to delete it.
Customers
- Account: your name, email and a securely hashed password, or your Google profile (name, email, photo) if you sign in with Google.
- Billing: handled by Dodo Payments. We see your plan, status and renewal dates, never your full card number.
- Payment provider keys you connect (Stripe, Dodo, Polar…) are stored encrypted and only used to read payments and set up webhooks.
- Our own analytics: we use Cool Analytics on coolanalytics.dev, under the same rules described above.
Why we use it
To run the service you signed up for, keep it secure, send important account emails (no marketing without your consent), and handle billing. For visitor data, we act on behalf of the site owner; see our Data Processing Agreement.
Where it's stored and who helps us
- Hetzner Online (Germany): the servers that store all data.
- Cloudflare: protects and speeds up the website, and provides approximate location from the connection.
- Dodo Payments: payments, receipts and tax, as merchant of record.
- Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”, and for showing website icons in the dashboard.
How long we keep it
Visit data is kept while the account is active, so you can compare across months and years. When a site or account is deleted, its data is removed within 30 days, and from our nightly backups within 14 days after that.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you're a visitor of a site that uses Cool Analytics, you can also contact that site directly. If you're in the EU or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, payment keys are encrypted, the servers are firewalled and kept up to date, and only the owner can access the database.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email customers before it takes effect and update the date at the top.
